VISITING THE VALLEYS ON THE MOON

Valleys are not very common on the Moon since erosive factors such as rainfall don't occur there. But there are a few worth noting. Some are from fractures in the crust and others a skid mark from a large piece pushing out. Sliding & gouging. Skid marks.

Schroteri: A site transitioning from rilles to valleys, Schroteri is a giant sinuous rilles. But it is far larger so it is placed in the valle category. It is so large that it is doubtful that it was ever roofed over.

Rheita: Extends outwards from the Nectaris impact basin.

Bouvard: Extending out from the Orientale impact, this is actually a set of three different valleys.

Alpine: Runs outwards from the Imbrium system. Radius extending out from that. All valleys do that
