TRAINING TOPIC
ARTIFICIAL GRAVITY

CURRENT DISPLAYS
Bathroom Scales
Here are three bathroom scales with different dials which show what you weight is on Earth, what it would be on the Moon, and what it would be on Mars. So, a very effective way of loosing weight is to simply move to the Moon or Mars. No dieting required! However, all joking aside, the reduced gravity can cause bone loss over time. This is why we are looking at how we can introduce artificial gravity into the InstaBase.

FUTURE DISPLAYS
Centrifuge
An indoor centrifuge could help offset the negative health effects of reduced gravity on the Moon and Mars. At about 15 meters in diameter, it would need to spin at 11 RPMs in order to provide full Earth gravity for perhaps a couple of hours in the morning and a couple of hours in the evening. So long as one does sedentary activities which don't require turning the head (such as screen time) then one wouldn't experience the Coriolis effects such as dizziness and nausea.

Weighted Uniform
One way to address the loss of bone marrow density would be to design indoor uniforms that lead weights strategically placed around the body but still allow the full range of motion.

Simulating Reduced Gees
We would like to create a geodesic dome out of steel tubes which would allow visitors of the Space Fair to have 5/6ths of their weight offset by a system of bars, pullies, and counterweights. This would allow the visitor to have a pretty accurate sense that they are on the Moon experiencing what it would be like to be in a 1/6th gravity environment.
